Guishan Han Tomb is a Western Han Dynasty royal tomb built for Liu Zhu, the King of Chu. Official archaeological descriptions highlight that the tomb is carved directly into the mountain and consists of two parallel underground sections connected by passageways. The entire structure covers more than 700 square meters and includes up to fifteen functional chambers such as living rooms, kitchens, stables, and corridors.
One of the most remarkable features of the tomb is its advanced engineering system, including a complete underground drainage system and highly precise stone-cut architecture. The site is often described as a “majestic underground palace,” reflecting the sophistication of Han Dynasty funerary architecture and royal burial customs.
