From May 15 to May 24, 2026, the First China New Cultural & Creative Market and Trendy Playground Carnival was grandly launched at Beijing Chaoyang Park. As the first national-level comprehensive cultural and creative themed market in China, the event is guided by the theme “Culture Enriches Life, Creativity Enjoys Life, Trends Lead the Future.” It brings together high-quality resources from across the country, including museum cultural products, intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship, trendy IPs, and digital cultural creativity, creating a vibrant cultural and creative feast integrating exhibition, experience, and exchange.
Invited to participate in the event, Zhenjiang Museum set up an exhibition in the Oriental New Aesthetics Museum Cultural & Creative Zone, showcasing a series of IP-based cultural and creative products derived from its collections. The museum presented the historical and cultural heritage of Zhenjiang as well as its innovative achievements in cultural product development to a nationwide audience.
The market was jointly guided by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Commerce, and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, and co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and the Chaoyang District Government. Covering a total area of approximately 66,000 square meters, the event features two core sections—Oriental New Aesthetics and New Wave National Trends—and serves as an important platform for the high-quality development of China’s cultural and creative industries.
Leveraging its rich collection of over 100,000 items, Zhenjiang Museum has been deeply engaged in the activation and creative transformation of cultural relics. For this event, it carefully selected representative product series such as the “Analects Jade Candle · Elegance Series,” Bronze Phoenix-Pattern Zun cultural creations, and Human-Faced Curved-Waisted Bell cultural derivatives for on-site exhibition and sales. These products integrate millennia-old Wu culture, canal culture, and Jiangnan aesthetics into contemporary lifestyle goods, bringing cultural relics to life and making traditional culture trendy.
At the exhibition booth, cultural products inspired by the Tang Dynasty Analects Jade Candle, including wine-ordering tools and fridge magnets, attracted significant attention by recreating the elegance of ancient literati culture. Derivative products based on artifacts such as the Bronze Phoenix-Pattern Zun and the Human-Faced Curved-Waisted Bell—including trendy collectibles, accessories, and home items—combine practicality with artistic value, vividly interpreting the concept of “Oriental New Aesthetics.”
Interactive experience activities were also set up on-site, allowing visitors to closely explore design concepts and the stories behind the cultural relics, and to experience Zhenjiang Museum’s philosophy of “bringing cultural relics into daily life and integrating history into everyday living.”
This participation marks an important step for Zhenjiang Museum in advancing the transformation of cultural relic IPs, expanding new scenarios for cultural tourism integration, and enhancing the city’s cultural influence. By leveraging this national-level cultural and creative platform, the museum not only showcased its achievements in cultural product innovation but also engaged in exchange and collaboration with museums and cultural enterprises across the country. It explored new models such as IP licensing, cross-industry cooperation, and digital cultural creativity, helping Zhenjiang culture reach a wider audience and jointly celebrating the beauty of Oriental aesthetics and cultural creativity.
