Dongguan Street

It used to be a gateway of water transportation and a center of business, handicrafts, religion and culture, boasting bustling market, numerous varieties of stores and booming business.

Dongguan Street has a relatively complete building complex of Ming and Qing Dynasties and fish bone-styled street layout, maintaining and following the traditional style and features of Ming and Qing dynasties. Over several thousand years of accumulation, the street has kept rich historical relics and cultural remains and is among the best preserved commercial ancient streets of cities along the China Grand Canal.
